A survey by the Norwegian statistics bureau SSB has found that oil and gas investment, despite the troubles of 2020, has continued to grow. According to the survey, total investments in 2021 oil and gas activity were estimated at NOK166.3 billion, up from the NOK148.6 billion forecast in August. We investigate.
Also in this issue, we talk to the African Energy Chamber about their expectations for 2021, hear from Shell and Ocean Infinity about their uncrewed seep hunters, and assess whether digital twins are living up to their marketing.
Plus, we profile the Gulf of Mexico and what Biden's win means for it, map the ups and downs of exploration across the world, learn about hydrogen embrittlement and the risks it poses, and lead you through what you need to know about the oil & gas sector in Romania.
