Blackstone to buy stakes in EQT US interstate gas pipelines for $3.5bn
Blackstone is in negotiations to acquire minority stakes in natural gas producer EQT’s US interstate natural gas pipelines for an estimated $3.5bn, US news services reported. The move could assist the natural gas producer in reducing its debt, which escalated following its purchase of Equitrans Midstream in 2024.
Iraq signs gas supply agreement with Turkmenistan
Iraq has inked a gas supply deal with Turkmenistan, securing 20 million cubic metres (mcm/d) per day of gas to enhance its electricity facilities. The new arrangement is particularly significant for Iraq, an oil-rich nation that has faced intermittent gas supply disruptions from Iran due to outstanding debts and US sanctions.
Woodside completes buy of US LNG company Tellurian for $1.2bn
Woodside Energy has finalised the acquisition of Tellurian, a US-based LNG company, for $1.2bn, which includes the assumption of debt. This deal, first announced in July, is set to strengthen Woodside’s standing as a leading independent LNG entity by incorporating the Driftwood LNG project into its portfolio.
ADNOC buying German chemical firm Covestro for $12.9bn
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has signed an agreement to acquire German chemical manufacturer Covestro for €11.7bn (Dh47.43bn). The buy includes a public takeover offer for all outstanding shares of Covestro at €62 per share. Covestro’s supervisory board expressed its support for the takeover.
